Revelation 12:9 speaks of, “… that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.”

The Lord put that and similar verses in his Word to warn us of a reality of world history: Global deception. And even those who profess to be Evangelical Christians are susceptible to the Serpent’s lie.

“In the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” – 1 Timothy 4:1.

Four ways that Christians are being deceived in our day are:

The Repackaged Lie
Blurred Distinctions
Unequal Yoking
Following Gurus

The Repackaged Lie

Satan is brilliantly clever at taking age-old lies, disguising them in subtlety, and gradually introducing them to even those who insist that they believe in the infallible authority of the Bible. Examples of lies the Enemy has deceived us with are all the various ways we are obsessed with “Self”; the numerous techniques of “Christianized” sorcery and divination within the Church; and the many issues and fads designed to give us a “Tower of Babel” vision for global unity.

Blurred Distinctions

Not only is Satan the “Father of lies”, but he is also the “Author of confusion”. It is getting harder and harder to tell the difference between neo-paganism and the liberal church; or between the liberal church and Evangelical Christianity. The message and the priorities of the Church are becoming indistinguishable from the World. Books by M. Scott Peck, for example, are found in both Christian bookstores and New Age/Occult bookstores. These books teach that humans are evolving to godhood; that we must become “mystics” and use Eastern meditation; and they advocate a one-world government.

Unequal Yoking

Christian leaders and Christian organizations are more and more yoking themselves with unbiblical, pagan groups and movements which set the followers up for synthesis, syncretism and compromise of doctrine and priorities. What fellowship does light have with darkness? These unholy alliances are often taking place in the name of “traditional family values” and involve relationships between Evangelicals, Roman Catholicism, Mormons, and Moonies; or, the alliances involve solving the problems of “Mother Earth” in association with various utopian movements.

Following Gurus

The final way in which Christians are being deceived is very much related to the first three. We are much more likely, these days, to not refer to our Bible for our convictions and world- view, but instead to follow the opinions of leaders we look up to. In these days of “Christian Mass Media”, Celebrity Ministers are likely to draw our attention and our allegiance. It is a dangerous thing to set up Gurus within the Body of Christ who are beyond criticism. “Touch not the Lord’s anointed!” we are told when the Guru’s doctrine or behavior is questioned, which is a reference to 1 Samuel 24 and 26. In those references, David was referring to not KILLING Saul. He was not forbidding CRITICISM of Saul. In fact, David himself rebukes Saul publicly. In these last days we cannot afford to follow human leaders as if they were Gurus; whether they be Rick Warren, Dr. Dobson, Bill Gothard, Pat Robertson, or Billy Graham, or leaders who jump on a media bandwagon, or musicians, or Emergent Church leaders, or politicians. We are to be disciples of Jesus, and him alone.

Our only hope to not be deceived in these last days is to “abide in the vine”; to surrender our hearts moment by moment to the Holy Spirit; to be Acts 17 “Bereans” and filter everything through the written Word of God; and to be lovers of the Truth.

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivable-ness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

Counterfeit Christs: Is your Pastor a one-man show?

This is Part 2 of a series on modern churchianity – aka, the Evangelical Industrial Complex [EIC]; And is a repost of the procinwarn.com article @ https://procinwarn.com/counterfeit-christs-is-your-pastor-a-one-man-show/

********

The whole world is being prepared for a counterfeit Christ, described in Revelation 13. Jesus warned us that there would be many who would attempt to come in the place of Christ, usurping his role:

“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” – Matthew 24:5

The Apostle John warns us that in addition to the coming antichrist, many antichrists are already among us:

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.” – 1 John 2:18-19

John says these antichrists “went out from us”. Satan is portrayed as a clever deceiver. If he inspired someone to walk among Christians saying “I am against Jesus Christ”, those who profess to love the Lord would not be deceived. An effective deception is well disguised.

In what ways might we be led to follow one who usurps the role of Jesus Christ? I am convinced that the world and professing Evangelical Christians are being prepared to follow the antichrist by getting use to following gurus. As I say in the article, “Four Ways Christians Are Being Deceived”:

We are much more likely, these days, to not refer to our Bible for our convictions and world-view, but instead to follow the opinions of leaders we look up to. In these days of “Christian mass media”, celebrity ministers are likely to draw our attention and our allegiance. It is a dangerous thing to set up gurus within the Body of Christ who are beyond criticism.

Is your “pastor” a one man show? I would be greatly concerned about this. If you go to your fellowship’s website, is he the only leader mentioned? Is his the only photograph prominently displayed? Is he the only one free to speak about truth and error? Must all others agree with him or face the consequences? Does your fellowship revolve around his personality and the personalities of his wife and family? Do this man and his wife act like benevolent royalty? Do his wife and children have more influence in the church than the elders? Is he the only teacher? Does he have veto power over every detail of the functioning of your fellowship? Are the “elders” yes-men who really just act as his staff? Or is there a continuing line of former elders who have tried to speak up and were slammed? Did your fellowship begin by a gathering of people at this man’s feet? Or if he were to go on to bigger and better things, would half to three quarters of his audience leave? Do people refer to your fellowship as “John’s Church” or “Pastor John’s Church” or “Pastor Smith’s Church”? Are people induced to stand in line to speak to him? To shake his hand? Does their heart go pitter-pat when he mentions their name from the pulpit? Do they wonder if he’s thinking about them? Do they yearn for his approval and fear his wrath?

Are you a husband or a father? Does the clergyman who rules over your church induce your wife or your children to have an emotional attachment to him with a blind emotional loyalty that causes them to become defensive at the slightest hint of criticism of their Pastor? I would be concerned about this. It is cult-like for your wife to respect and admire this man more than her own husband. It is adulterous and idolatrous for your wife to be so emotionally attached to this man. It is wrong for a clergyman to usurp the role of husband in the lives of the women of the congregation. It is wrong for a clergyman to usurp the role of loving and wise father in the lives of the children and youth of a congregation.

Worse yet! It is idolatry and blasphemy for this man to usurp the role of Christ among the believers in your fellowship! That is exactly what he does if he functions as a guru beyond critique or a dictator beyond question. And that is exactly what he does if he is more than just a brother in Christ; if he is more than just one of multiple leaders and overseers; if he is more than just one of a number of men free to teach the truth; if the life of the congregation is focused on and revolves around him.

Of course, not every leader in a church that fits some of these descriptions is an antichrist. We all walk in the flesh to varying extents at various times. We all need to grow closer to Jesus in our daily walk and mature in our ministries and gifts and callings. But these are serious issues. And if any of these descriptions fit, they ought to be dealt with. No one should be in such a place of prominence and celebrity that they usurp the role of Christ.

We know the names of the Apostles and various apostolic representatives, but when we read about the church in Ephesus or Corinth in the Bible, for example, we never hear about “Pastor Smith”. Acts 14:23 tells us that Paul and Barnabus appointed elders in every church. The Body of Christ is a fellowship of brothers and sisters with Jesus as the Shepherd and only Lord.

“But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.” – Matthew 20:25-26

Jesus says in Mark 10:42-45, leaders in the church should be different than leaders in the world. Therefore, as Paul says in Romans 12:2, let us be: “…not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Let us fellowship in simplicity looking to Jesus as Lord, continuing, “…steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” – Acts 2:42

Churchianity: The Evangelical Subculture

This is Part 1 of a series on modern churchianity – aka, the Evangelical Industrial Complex [EIC]; And is a repost of the procinwarn.com article  @ https://procinwarn.com/the-evangelical-subculture/

*******

Two Different Conversions

When I became a follower of Jesus Christ I underwent two different conversions, although I didn’t realize it at the time. First, I was converted from my old life into the Body of Christ by reconciliation with God through Jesus. Hallelujah! At about the same time I bought into the Evangelical Subculture under the false impression that it WAS the Body of Christ. It took me years to realize the difference between the two.

I had been aware of “Christendom”: that worldly religious structure consisting of political and economic empires and bureaucracies, both Protestant and Catholic, that had fought religious wars and undertaken crusades to retake the “Holy Land”, that had burned people at the stake, that continued to preach false Christs and false gospels of works, and that continues to talk about the counterfeit unity called Ecumenicalism.

But I had not understood the nature of the Evangelical Subculture, that is a part of the worldly structure of “Christendom”. This subculture has its own organizations and institutions, denominations, parachurch organizations; its own magazines and radio stations and TV networks; its own schools and colleges and universities; its own celebrities; its own music industry and book stores; its own marketing and advertising worlds.

Like Joining a Club

The tragedy of the Evangelical Subculture is that people who have a sincere desire to follow Jesus get side tracked into a zeal for being a part of this worldly system. It is like joining a club. The club member begins to wear the clothes and trinkets bought at the “Christian” book stores; watch “Christian” TV and listen to “Christian” radio; buy the latest fad books that sweep the “Christian media”; subscribe to the “Christian” magazines; worship the “Christian” celebrities; use all the latest jargon promoted in the latest books by the celebrity authors.

A cult-like mentality develops among people who see this Evangelical system as identical to the Body of Christ. Their zeal is for the trappings of the subculture. It is its own religion. If someone tries to point out the unbiblical nature of some aspect of this subculture people will take offense because you are criticizing their religion. The subculture becomes the message. The “gospel” that people preach is for conversion to the system, not really to Jesus Christ.

The Subculture, Institutionalism, & Deception

The pop culture of Evangelicalism feeds on institutionalism, denominationalism, “non-denominational” institutional church organizations, and the professional clergy system. The professional clergy and their church organizations, in turn, find an indoctrinated constituency to fill their pews and programs. Both the subculture and the institutional churches turn a relationship with Jesus and his people into a participation in a religion and a lifestyle.

This Evangelical subculture has played a major role in setting professing Christians up for deception. It seduces people to think and act like the subculture instead of reading the Bible for themselves and deriving their understanding from the Bible. It has been this subculture that has infected the Evangelicals with psychology, self-esteem, political action and social activism, unity at the expense of sound doctrine, mysticism, and cult attachments to gurus, movements, and organizations. Ultimately, the end of this deception is a merging of the Evangelical Subculture with the global counterfeit religious vision.

We ought to be content with the simplicity of following Jesus and being the Body of Christ together with those the Lord provides for fellowship, according to the teachings of the Apostles in the New Testament.

Please consider asking those you care about, “Shall we be disciples of Jesus together? Or would you rather just participate in a Religious System?”

Rick Warren, Brian Brodersen and the Lies of Chrislam

Recently Calvary Chapel’s Facebook page posted a video clip of Brian Brodersen interviewing Rick Warren. In the short clip, Brian says he wants to address some of the “controversies” involving Warren. Brodersen sets up Warren with an opportunity to once again disclaim any involvement in the ecumenical antics that have become know as “Chrislam”.  Although Warren continues to claim the whole thing is a lie, the facts show otherwise. There is substantial evidence to prove that Warren’s Chrislam indeed exists.

The video below shows the clip posted on the Calvary Chapel Facebook page:

The first piece of evidence is the from the December 2011 archives of the blog of the Islamic Center of Southern California [ICSC].

The text of the ICSC post reads as follows:

“Last Sunday a historic event took place at Saddleback Church in Orange County, California. Saddleback is known for its famous pastor, Rick Warren, who delivered the prayer at President Obama’s inauguration ceremony. The church hosted a number of Muslim communities in Southern California for it’s second annual celebration of Jesus. This event is significant because Saddleback is the largest evangelical church, with over 22,000 members.

Although only a select number of individuals were invited to this dinner, it demonstrates [NOTE] the new theological position of Saddleback. At the celebration, a document [NOTE] *one year in the making was presented, which encourages Christians and Muslims to appreciate the similarities of our faiths.

The document encouraged that our communities work together towards the common good, and to combat bigotry on a 1-2-3 plan. The first step in the plan identifies the belief in ONE God. The second step in the plan acknowledges God’s commandment to love God and your neighbor. Finally, step three is for our communities to commit to three things: Making friends, building peace, and serving the world at large together.

The relationship with Saddleback church was initiated over a year ago with a friendship between one of the pastors, Abraham Meulenberg, and the ICSC’s Jihad Turk. From this friendship [NOTE] developed an institutional link between their respective organizations.”

The link for this info is here: http://www.donotbesurprised.com/2012/02/historic-interfaith-document-was-one.html

In February 2012, Apprising Ministries posted it’s article “Rick Warren, Islam and Jim Hinch”:  http://apprising.org/2012/02/27/rick-warren-islam-and-jim-hinch/  wherein documentation is given showing Warren’s response to Hinch’s OC Register expose’ and also Hinch’s reply to Warren’s comment. See the screen capture below.

In March 2012, Apprising Ministries exposed the ongoing ecumenical links between Warren’s Saddleback Church and Muslim clerics. See http://apprising.org/2012/03/11/rick-warren-says-no-kings-way-document-and-no-saddleback-staff-involved/  and also see: http://apprising.org/2012/03/14/more-on-the-kings-way-presentation-at-saddleback-church/

Significantly, the article by OC Register reporter Jim Hinch that caused the initial uproar was reprinted in it’s entirety by the ICSC blog in 2012. The link is HERE:  http://blog.icsconline.org/2012/02/in-the-media-rick-warren-builds-bridge-to-muslims/ Screen capture is below.

On March 9, 2012 the OC Register published excerpts of the King’s Way documents, which testify to the ongoing Chrislamic endeavors. The link is HERE: http://www.ocregister.com/2012/03/09/kings-way-document-excerpts/ Also see: http://www.solasisters.com/2012/03/is-kings-way-interfaith-document-or-not.html

Warren’s defense regarding his involvement in “Chrislam” has been essentially a matter of semantics and deception. Although he himself may not have been personally involved in the 2012 ICSC affair, his associate pastor (who is responsible to him) had an ongoing relationship, open communication with and an “Institution link” to a the ICSC.

Beyond the events of 2012, the inescapable facts are that Warren personally signed his name to the list of Christian leaders who supported the Islam affirming Yale Divinity School “Response” to the 2007 document known as “A Common Word Between Us and You“, which was drawn up by a group of Muslim clerics – ostensibly to:

“Promote constructive engagement between these major religious communities; Planning is underway for a series of major conferences and workshops involving many of the signatories to A Common Word and to the Yale response, as well as other Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders.”

This document is ecumenical to it’s core. It positively compares the god of the Muslims to the God of the bible, and places the Muslim scriptures on a par with Christian scripture. The Yale “Response” purports to “Find deep affinities with our own Christian faith” and the Islamic scriptures.

The “Yale Response” document states in part:

What is so extraordinary about A Common Word Between Us and You is… a deep insight and courage with which they have identified the common ground between the Muslim and Christian… What is common between us lies not in something marginal nor in something merely important to each. It lies, rather, in something absolutely central to both: love of God and love of neighbor…”

“So much common ground exists – common ground in some of the fundamentals of faith—gives hope that undeniable differences and even the very real external pressures that bear down upon us can not overshadow the common ground upon which we stand together…”

“We applaud that A Common Word Between Us and You stresses so insistently the unique devotion to one God… In the Muslim tradition, God, “the Lord of the worlds,” is “The Infinitely Good and All-Merciful.” And the New Testament states clearly that “God is love” (1 John 4:8)…”

“We find [NOTE] DEEP AFFINITIES with our own Christian faith when A Common Word Between Us and You insists that love is the pinnacle of our duties toward our neighbors. “None of you has faith until you love for your neighbor what you love for yourself,” the Prophet Muhammad said. In the New Testament we similarly read, “whoever does not love [the neighbor] does not know God” (1 John 4:8)…”

*THIS is what Rick Warren gave his approval, and became a signatory to! The entire document is available HERE: http://www.acommonword.com/

Regardless of whether of not Warren had personal involvement in the 2012 debacle, his signature on the Yale Response document clearly shows his Chrislamic affinities. Thus Brian Brodersen is once again shown to be the facilitator and legitimatizer of Rick Warren’s lies.

It is also worth noting that the website of “A Common Word” is linked to the UN affiliated site, World Interfaith Harmony Week [http://worldinterfaithharmonyweek.com/]

Additionally, there is photographic evidence of Warren speaking at an Islamic Society of North America [ISNA] affiliated event. (See below)

On a personal note: Although I usually try to present the documentation objectively, I have to say here that I believe that for Brian Brodersen, and thus, for Calvary Chapel to actively promote the lies and the cover-up instituted by Rick Warren and his cohorts is nothing short of despicable. Once again we see mega-church pastors more concerned about protecting their brands and their own corporate assets than about the welfare of the sheep they have been entrusted with. May The Lord deliver his sheep from the hands of these men.

Lectio Divina – The Prophetic Pandora’s Box

My recent research led me to some social media posts by a group of “charismatic” Catholics. On their page, Father Raniero Cantalamessa, a Capuchin contemplative monk and speaker at IHOP’s ‘One Thing’ Catholic Track conference states:

“The inebriation that comes from the Holy Spirit purifies of sin, renews the heart in fervor and enlightens the mind by a *SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE of God – NOT a RATIONAL but an intuitive, *EXPERIENTIAL knowledge, accompanied by inner joy.” – [Fr. Cantalamessa]

The obtaining of special knowledge of God is what Gnostics and assorted mystics have sought from the beginning – thus, to become gods themselves.

A second posts proclaiming a “Nativity Fast” gives detailed directions for the practice of contemplative Lectio Divina. The devil is in the details, as this reveals some of the major problems with LD and contemplative practices in general.

This is a dangerous practice,  and can open one to direct demonic deception. To begin with, “Invoking” the Holy Spirit has no scriptural foundation. Jesus taught us: “In *THIS manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven…”

Note that proper bible study – exegesis, is relegated to an “introductory exercise”. We are told to “Create a space” in our hearts “for a new experience”…Then passages are “isolated” – taken out of context, and repeated like a mantra. As the passage in repeated we are instructed to be “expecting NEW illumination, New highlight, NEW understanding…”

Lastly we are told to be “receptive and open… Opening up our inner man for a download from heaven”. What we are not told is that this entire process factually amounts to a Christianized form of divination – all forms of which are strictly forbidden in God’s Word [Lev. 19:2] precisely because they bring one in contact with demonic entities.

Some relevant bible verses include:

1Cor. 4:6 – “… that you may learn in us not to think *BEYOND WHAT IS WRITTEN, that none of you may be puffed up…”

“You must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of… that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” – 2Tim. 3:14-17

And, consider this:

“Because with lies you have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and you have strengthened the hands of the wicked, so that he does not turn from his wicked way to save his life. Therefore you shall no longer envision futility nor practice divination; for I will deliver My people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.” ‘ ” – Ezekiel 13:22-23

A Not So Happy Reformation Day?

NOT so happy Reformation Day, as institutional Protestants are Grateful for Ecumenical Journey Since Reformation

Amongst the many ecumenical celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation – A joint message [Vatican-provided text] signed October 31, 2017 reads (in part): “Lutherans and Catholics are profoundly grateful for the ecumenical journey that we have traveled together during the last fifty years”. The statement cited “common prayer, worship and ecumenical dialogue” as contributing to “removal of prejudices” and greater “mutual understanding.”

We begged forgiveness for our failures and for the ways in which Christians have wounded the Body of the Lord and offended each other during the five hundred years since the beginning of the Reformation until today,” the statement said.

See: Catholic propaganda “news” site Zenit: https://zenit.org/articles/joint-statement-for-end-of-commemoration-of-reformation/

Pope Francis and [Lutheran] President Younan stated together: “Many members of our communities yearn to receive the Eucharist at one table, as the concrete expression of full unity. We experience the pain of those who share their whole lives, but cannot share God’s redeeming presence at the Eucharistic table.”

We rejoice that the Joint Declaration … has also been signed by the World Methodist Council in 2006 and, during this Commemoration Year of the Reformation, by the World Communion of Reformed Churches. On this very day it is being welcomed and received by the Anglican Communion at a solemn ceremony in Westminster Abbey.”

Looking forward, we commit ourselves to continue our journey together, guided by [SIC] God’s Spirit, towards the greater unity according to the will of our Lord Jesus Christ. With [SIC] God’s help we intend to discern in a prayerful manner our understanding on Church, Eucharist and Ministry, seeking a substantial consensus…

The NAR’s “Passion Translation” of the NT set for Oct. 31st release!

Just in time for Halloween – BroadSteet Publishing has announced an Oct. 31 release date for the controversial Passion Translation’s complete New Testament. This popular New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) “translation” of the Bible is produced by the NAR apostle Brian Simmons.

The Passion Bible Translations has rightly been referred to as the NAR bible. Indeed it has been Endorsed [https://www.thepassiontranslation.com/about/endorsements/ ] by:

Bill Johnson (Bethel/ NAR)

Bobbie Houston (Hillsong)

Patricia King (NAR)

Lou Engle (The Call/ NAR)

James Goll (NAR

John & Lisa Bevere (NAR)

Banning Leibscher (Jesus CULTure)

Che Ahn (NAR)

Stacy Campbell (NAR)

Chuck Pierce (Healing Rooms/ NAR)

NOTE: This article following is a repost of Holly Pivec's original @: http://www.spiritoferror.org/2017/10/thats-scary-passion-translation-plans-oct-31-release-for-full-new-testament/7179

Simmons claims that Christ visited him personally and commissioned him to produce this translation, where he has taken Bible verses and changed them to make them appear like they support NAR teachings. It’s endorsed by leading NAR apostles and prophets, including Bill Johnson, Che Ahn, and Lou Engle.

Up to now, Simmons has released the Passion Translation in installments, starting with Song of Songs in 2011. The Oct. 31 release will include the full New Testament plus Psalms, Proverbs, and Song of Songs.

In preparation for the release, the publisher has announced plans to expand the secretive editorial team of “respected scholars” who are allegedly behind this translation project. I refer to the team as “secretive” because Simmons–who describes himself as the lead translator–claims that a team of respected scholars and editors evaluate his work. But, to date, he has not publicly identified any of those supposed scholars. And the publisher’s latest announcement, about expanding the team, also does not identify any of the scholars. See this statement from the Passion Translation’s FAQ page:

In preparation for the release of the full New Testament October 31, 2017, BroadStreet Publishing is forming an even more extensive and diverse team to review and provide critical feedback to ensure The Passion Translation is faithful to the original text and heart of God.

It’d be almost kind of funny — if it weren’t such a serious matter — that the publisher claims to be adding more phantom scholars to the team. Do they think this translation actually gains credibility by beefing up the ghost squad? And why won’t Simmons reveal who is editing his work? Could it be that these individuals don’t have any more qualifications to make a new translation of the Bible than Simmons does? Read about his lack of qualifications and other serious problems with the Passion Translation in a series of posts I wrote.

In contrast to the Passion Translation, other true Bible translations–such as the New King James Version, the English Standard Version, and the New International Version–are produced by a team of scholars (not a single lead translator). And the names of those scholars are identified publicly–not shrouded in secrecy.

Having a shadowy team of figures behind this disturbing translation makes it that much scarier for anyone who might be considering lending it the same credibility as reputable translations of the Scriptures.

 * * * * * * *

Examples of the paraphrased “translation” include –

Psalm 23 –

KJV : “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

TPT: 1 “The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd. I always have more than enough. [2] He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love. His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss. [3] That’s where he restores and revives my life. He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name. [4] Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have! You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way. Your authority is my strength and my peace. The comfort of your love takes away my fear. I’ll never be lonely, for you are near. [5] You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows. [6] So why would I fear the future? For your goodness and love pursue me all the days of my life. Then afterward, when my life is through, I’ll return to your glorious presence to be forever with you! “

Proverbs 3:5-6 –

KJV: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own under-standing. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

TPT: “Trust in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart rely on him to guide you, and he will lead you in every decision you make. [6] Become intimate with him in whatever you do, and he will lead you wherever you go. Don’t think for a moment that you know it all“.

Romans 1:16-17

KJV: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

TPT: “I refuse to be ashamed of sharing the wonderful message of God’s liberating power unleashed in us through Christ! For I am thrilled to preach that everyone who believes is saved—the Jew first, and then people everywhere! [17] This gospel unveils a continual revelation of God’s righteousness—a perfect righteousness given to us when we believe. And it moves us from receiving life through faith, to the power of living by faith. This is what the Scripture means when it says:
“We are right with God through life-giving faith!”

Hebrews 1:1-3 –

KJV: “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; [3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

TPT: “[1] Throughout our history God has spoken to our ancestors by his prophets in many different ways. The revelation he gave them was only a fragment at a time, building one truth upon another. [2] But to us living in these last days, God now speaks to us openly in the language of a Son, the appointed Heir of everything, for through him God created the panorama of all things and all time. [3] The Son is the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—his mirror image! He holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word. He accomplished for us the complete cleansing of sins, and then took his seat on the highest throne at the right hand of the majestic One.”
