Unity – The Ecumenical Vision of the National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer started out as a great idea – with an official declaration by President Reagan calling Americans to prayer for their country. Unfortunately, the organization behind this noble event – celebrated on the first Thursday of May –  now appears to have been, to a large extent, hijacked by NAR/ Dominionist factions.

Dr. Ronnie Floyd serves as the President of the National Day of Prayer. Floyd has been a strategic leader in the Southern Baptist Convention for decades, and oversaw it’s deterioration, into the “SBC” being referred to as “Slowly Becoming Catholic”. His leadership of the NDP also appears to be aberrant.

Obviously there is nothing wrong with churches gathering for prayer – nor with biblical churches joining together to do so. The problem is that this is really not the agenda of this NDP organization. The agenda now appears to be much more about ecumenical “UNITY” than about prayer itself, and thus the theme for 2018 is “UNITY”… especially unity of all the churches.

In the series of video presentations on the NDP home page [see http://www.nationaldayofprayer.org/equipping#unity] the “UNITY” theme is hammered in, over and over. After first explaining how the NDP is to have a “Multi-Vision” – meaning essentially globalist ‘Unity in Diversity’ and wholly ecumenical – Floyd says:

“It’s time to claim the territory again. This is why we must do everything we can to call people to unify together for public prayer… Pray for America for unity, – UNITY! *This is the heart of God for this nation… This will be our theme: Pray for America – UNITY! …We must come together. ”

Although Floyd makes some valid points in the video, the theme verse of Ephesians 4:3: “Making every effort to keep the UNITY OF THE SPIRIT through the bond of peace” – is NOT applicable to having unified fellowship with apostate churches which are operating via a counterfeit “spirit”. There are dozens of warnings in the bible concerning false teachers and their teachings, not the least of which is 2 John 1:10-11 – “If anyone comes to you and does not bring this (biblical) doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds”. The NAR/ Dominionist agenda of the NDP.org is clearly evident in it’s documents. One handout lists 5 “Pray for Unity” bullet points, but the lower portion says: “PRAY FOR THE SEVEN AREAS OF INFLUENCE: Government, Military, Media/ Arts, Business, Education, Church and Family”. The “Areas of Influence” exactly correspond to the Dominionist “Seven Mountain Mandate”, wherein the “Church” is to infiltrate and take over these areas – bringing in “God’s Kingdom” so that supposedly Christ can then return.

Another flyer states: “Call for unity, and forward unity in America continually… Pray – Ask God for thousands of local churches to unify as one body of Christ… For the church in America to walk in unity, harmony and oneness, so (that) His church personifies, calls and leads America to Unity.” See https://www.nationaldayofprayer.net/products/ndp-theme-prayer-guide-2018-100-pk

A quick search of the “Virtual Events” listed on the NDP site reveals that various NAR groups are capitalizing on the NDP, using it to promote their dominionist and ecumenical agendas. The page lists events sponsored by: Dominion @ the GATE PRAYer Global Network, Dominion International Ministries, Kingdom Now Church, the National Hispanic Global Sphere Apostle, etc., etc.

And once again, we have the merchandizers and their merch…

The “Spiritual Awakening” the NDP folk claim to be seeking will never be happen by all of the apostate and aberrant churches unifying – THIS is the agenda of the Anti-Christ! Amidst all of the the NDP’s calls for unity – particularly unity of the churches – Where are the calls for repentance? The greatest need of America – and of the churches, is NOT ecumenical unity, but personal and national repentance!

Right, this ‘unity drum’ is being beat at a high frequency now more than ever. Everything has the unity agenda behind it. Of course we know this is not true unity but apostate unity with any church, no questions asked, and eventually unity of religions, all leading to the one world religion under antichrist. Yes, it is so ironic, they don’t care about truth, they don’t care about repentance, they only care about a shallow ‘unity’. And I hear that on all fronts like that flier said, in areas of race, politics, money, religion and church, nations, etc. It’s all the antichrist agenda. Anyone who abstains is looked at as the ‘bad guy.’ What they fail to see is that unless it is around the true gospel, there is no unity because it is the truth that unites us.
And then comes their golden calf festival “revival” and ushering in what they will claim is ‘the kingdom of God,’ which is really the kingdom of antichrist. The height of arrogance is in thinking that God needs us to bring in His kingdom, but we need Him to do that! Who is God after all, us or Him?! And God calls us to come out from among them and be separate!

  2. It is amazing how legitimacy can be lent to 5 points of “prayer4unity” by just plastering a scripture verse to it. I totally agree with the article, especially the last paragraph. As apostate as any supposed unified church has become, any revival will be a false one based on signs and wonder “experiences” of Kundalini transference and of new age practices, especially of “contemplative” prayer. Experiences over sound doctrine will be the glue which binds all the false religions that make up the One World Religion. Who doesn’t want “unity” or to be at peace and harmony with one another. The problem is unity has to come on Christ’s terms, not mans.
