Rick Warren, Brian Brodersen and the Lies of Chrislam

Recently Calvary Chapel’s Facebook page posted a video clip of Brian Brodersen interviewing Rick Warren. In the short clip, Brian says he wants to address some of the “controversies” involving Warren. Brodersen sets up Warren with an opportunity to once again disclaim any involvement in the ecumenical antics that have become know as “Chrislam”.  Although Warren continues to claim the whole thing is a lie, the facts show otherwise. There is substantial evidence to prove that Warren’s Chrislam indeed exists.

The video below shows the clip posted on the Calvary Chapel Facebook page:

The first piece of evidence is the from the December 2011 archives of the blog of the Islamic Center of Southern California [ICSC].

The text of the ICSC post reads as follows:

“Last Sunday a historic event took place at Saddleback Church in Orange County, California. Saddleback is known for its famous pastor, Rick Warren, who delivered the prayer at President Obama’s inauguration ceremony. The church hosted a number of Muslim communities in Southern California for it’s second annual celebration of Jesus. This event is significant because Saddleback is the largest evangelical church, with over 22,000 members.

Although only a select number of individuals were invited to this dinner, it demonstrates [NOTE] the new theological position of Saddleback. At the celebration, a document [NOTE] *one year in the making was presented, which encourages Christians and Muslims to appreciate the similarities of our faiths.

The document encouraged that our communities work together towards the common good, and to combat bigotry on a 1-2-3 plan. The first step in the plan identifies the belief in ONE God. The second step in the plan acknowledges God’s commandment to love God and your neighbor. Finally, step three is for our communities to commit to three things: Making friends, building peace, and serving the world at large together.

The relationship with Saddleback church was initiated over a year ago with a friendship between one of the pastors, Abraham Meulenberg, and the ICSC’s Jihad Turk. From this friendship [NOTE] developed an institutional link between their respective organizations.”

In February 2012, Apprising Ministries posted it’s article “Rick Warren, Islam and Jim Hinch”:  http://apprising.org/2012/02/27/rick-warren-islam-and-jim-hinch/  wherein documentation is given showing Warren’s response to Hinch’s OC Register expose’ and also Hinch’s reply to Warren’s comment. See the screen capture below.

In March 2012, Apprising Ministries exposed the ongoing ecumenical links between Warren’s Saddleback Church and Muslim clerics. See http://apprising.org/2012/03/11/rick-warren-says-no-kings-way-document-and-no-saddleback-staff-involved/  and also see: http://apprising.org/2012/03/14/more-on-the-kings-way-presentation-at-saddleback-church/

Significantly, the article by OC Register reporter Jim Hinch that caused the initial uproar was reprinted in it’s entirety by the ICSC blog in 2012. The link is HERE:  http://blog.icsconline.org/2012/02/in-the-media-rick-warren-builds-bridge-to-muslims/ Screen capture is below.

On March 9, 2012 the OC Register published excerpts of the King’s Way documents, which testify to the ongoing Chrislamic endeavors. The link is HERE: http://www.ocregister.com/2012/03/09/kings-way-document-excerpts/ Also see: http://www.solasisters.com/2012/03/is-kings-way-interfaith-document-or-not.html

Warren’s defense regarding his involvement in “Chrislam” has been essentially a matter of semantics and deception. Although he himself may not have been personally involved in the 2012 ICSC affair, his associate pastor (who is responsible to him) had an ongoing relationship, open communication with and an “Institution link” to a the ICSC.

Beyond the events of 2012, the inescapable facts are that Warren personally signed his name to the list of Christian leaders who supported the Islam affirming Yale Divinity School “Response” to the 2007 document known as “A Common Word Between Us and You“, which was drawn up by a group of Muslim clerics – ostensibly to:

“Promote constructive engagement between these major religious communities; Planning is underway for a series of major conferences and workshops involving many of the signatories to A Common Word and to the Yale response, as well as other Christian, Muslim and Jewish leaders.”

This document is ecumenical to it’s core. It positively compares the god of the Muslims to the God of the bible, and places the Muslim scriptures on a par with Christian scripture. The Yale “Response” purports to “Find deep affinities with our own Christian faith” and the Islamic scriptures.

The “Yale Response” document states in part:

What is so extraordinary about A Common Word Between Us and You is… a deep insight and courage with which they have identified the common ground between the Muslim and Christian… What is common between us lies not in something marginal nor in something merely important to each. It lies, rather, in something absolutely central to both: love of God and love of neighbor…”

“So much common ground exists – common ground in some of the fundamentals of faith—gives hope that undeniable differences and even the very real external pressures that bear down upon us can not overshadow the common ground upon which we stand together…”

“We applaud that A Common Word Between Us and You stresses so insistently the unique devotion to one God… In the Muslim tradition, God, “the Lord of the worlds,” is “The Infinitely Good and All-Merciful.” And the New Testament states clearly that “God is love” (1 John 4:8)…”

“We find [NOTE] DEEP AFFINITIES with our own Christian faith when A Common Word Between Us and You insists that love is the pinnacle of our duties toward our neighbors. “None of you has faith until you love for your neighbor what you love for yourself,” the Prophet Muhammad said. In the New Testament we similarly read, “whoever does not love [the neighbor] does not know God” (1 John 4:8)…”

*THIS is what Rick Warren gave his approval, and became a signatory to! The entire document is available HERE: http://www.acommonword.com/

Regardless of whether of not Warren had personal involvement in the 2012 debacle, his signature on the Yale Response document clearly shows his Chrislamic affinities. Thus Brian Brodersen is once again shown to be the facilitator and legitimatizer of Rick Warren’s lies.

It is also worth noting that the website of “A Common Word” is linked to the UN affiliated site, World Interfaith Harmony Week [http://worldinterfaithharmonyweek.com/]

Additionally, there is photographic evidence of Warren speaking at an Islamic Society of North America [ISNA] affiliated event. (See below)

On a personal note: Although I usually try to present the documentation objectively, I have to say here that I believe that for Brian Brodersen, and thus, for Calvary Chapel to actively promote the lies and the cover-up instituted by Rick Warren and his cohorts is nothing short of despicable. Once again we see mega-church pastors more concerned about protecting their brands and their own corporate assets than about the welfare of the sheep they have been entrusted with. May The Lord deliver his sheep from the hands of these men.

The evidence is all over the place!

    And…
    1. It is NOT the same God! A reading of the Bible compared to the koran demonstrates this clearly.
    2. Islam is evil, don’t let them fool you. There are SO many verses in the koran mandating doing sin and evil. Just because there is one nicer verse thrown in every now and then, that is just to fool the gullible so it does not appear all bad.
    3. There is NO common ground between Christianity and false religions. Even what appears to be similar is not. And Islam is NOT an ‘Abrahamic’ faith, the only faiths having anything to do with Abraham are Judaism and Christianity (the root and the fruit). Just because some of his descendants coined new religions does not put any of that guilt on Abraham. And, there is no common good here either because no good can come from compromise with the enemy camp. We must honor the Lord first above all else, no matter what is at stake. Have a little faith, God will deliver, He does not need you to compromise in order for His purposes to be fulfilled!
    4. This is all bridge building to the one world religion under antichrist!

I can’t believe how far old Brian Brodersen has fallen!
He used to be a pretty solid teacher back a few decades, you’d never think he would have fallen this far! Truly sad.

    Blessings!
